Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved service.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to create a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
